Owning and operating a business on Koh Samui since 2016 under the name "Shahda Yoga" has brought so much joy and personal growth. The classes I have taught in the studio have mostly been small. No big groups, no 200/300hr teacher trainings, no unlimited passes or any other western commercialism. When we build something based on our individual truth and authenticity, as oppose to social trends and western economics, being unconventional/illogical is scary as hell but, necessary. The knowledge, experience and evolution gained has been no less than - true beauty.
A summary of my yoga journey is decribed briefly on my website. However, I have patiently waited for 10 years to share that which needed to first stand the test of time, some tests over the years were not so nice I must say, to qualify as - truth.
Creativity's true essence never wanes but rather, it roots deeper.
"SHAHDA" is the middle name my mother gave when I was born. The meaning may be "honey" in some languages but to me, Shahda represents the ultimate manifestation of Maha Shakti from DAY ONE of my yoga journey.
A mother's love is love like no other. The ultimate feminie energy which nurtures, protects and ignites personal growth in those she cares for through individual empowerment.
She is observant, She is trust, She is peaceful strength, She dissolves fear, She is uncoditional embrace, all of which I have personally experienced deep in my practice as a yoga student, meditator, and I have seen as I hold the space for my students as a yoga teacher.
2016 when I decided to invest in Thailand it was not the financial forecast which inspired me to open a yoga studio on my own capacity. I had set up the business under Shahda Yoga Samui and have since carried forward this beautiful feminine receptive frequency I had received from my mother and her mother and all the mothers before her, to celebrate a woman's strength and depth of love and capacity to care.
Today, because of my mother and all the mothers before her, I am able to hold a sacred space for over 3,000+ students from all over the world, over the years.
My gratitude always for my creator and carer, She, who named me in this world. β€π§ΏππΎ
